Direct Thermal Labels

Direct Thermal Printing technology is best described as utilising heat-sensitive label materials that causes a change in colour of the label material in order to create a printed image, activated by the heat in the label printer print head.

When printing on Thermal Direct labels you do not require a ribbon. Most Direct Thermal and Thermal Transfer printers can print on Direct Thermal material.

Direct Thermal material (paper or synthetic) have a shorter image lifespan than thermal transfer labels and are more sensitive to heat and light.

Direct Thermal Labels are commonly used for short terms applications such as: Retail barcodes, Receipts / Dockets, Shipping labels, Compliance, Tickets and Coupons, Event tickets, Visitor passes, Parking tickets.
